Before R&S.
Once used as the Mobil Oil symbol across America's historic highways, the Pegasus symbol was first used in 1911 and later revised in the In 1931, when Vacuum merged with Socony Oil, the red Pegasus – a symbol of speed and power – was adopted as its U.S. trademark. In 1968, Mobil adopted new-look Pegasus service stations. The red Pegasus remains among the most recognized corporate symbols in American petroleum history.

Background.
In 1976, R&S Auto Service, Inc purchased the property from Mobil Oil and the iconic neon Pegasus sign was removed. For the next 48 years, R&S Auto Service, Inc. served the New Orleans community as a preferred ASE certified mechanic and repair shop. Ray St. Pierre and Sam Clesi were at the diagnostics wheel for almost 4 decades before the St Pierre family bought remaining shares of R&S Auto Service, Inc from the Clesi family in October of 2012. in 2022, Gloria and Ray St. Pierre decided to spend more time with family, closing the doors for good.

Community.
519 Hagan Ave. has a long history of serving the community in a historic neighborhood along Bayou St. John. It has drawn interest from many potential suitors over the years. The current owners preference is that it remains grounded by the community that it serves. We are grateful for their commitment to the neighborhood at a time when much change is taking place all around. Mid City has become an attractive place to Live, Work, and Play.
